The Book Organizations of Colorado (BOOC), working with the Colorado
State Library and others, has initiated a new service to facilitate
contacts between libraries, schools, and service organizations and
Colorado authors.

"Find an Author" lists authors by genre, county, name, and areas of
expertise. There is no charge for the service, either to authors or to
people seeking contacts. Visit http://www.coloradobook.org/, and click
the button with "Find an Author."

The system enables authors to reach out with no expense and the minimum
of effort. It enables organizations to make direct contact with
possible presenters in the same way.

Currently, about 100 authors are listed. However, BOOC is actively
soliciting additional authors to become part of the data base. They can
send an e-mail message to be entered on the site.

BOOC representatives will be distributing information about "Find an
Author" at the CAL Conference Big Book Bash on Saturday. Or visit the
web site (above).
