The Colorado State Library cordially invites you to attend a unique workshop on how to implement a library makeover within a wide range of budgets.

When:
Wednesday, June 17 (9:30am -3pm) -- ATLA members (academic) and Colorado academic libraries
Thursday, June 18 (9:30am – 3pm) -- Colorado public, school, and special libraries

Cost:
The cost of the workshop is $30.00 per person for the full day (9:30am – 3:00pm) and includes lunch.

When was the last time your library had a makeover?  Do users find your physical space inviting? Are print usage statistics declining? Join international Retail and Library Consultant Kevin Hennah for an information rich workshop on update your library’s look.

Challenging traditional ideas on layout, signage and navigation, this workshop presents thought provoking ideas on how to create a level playing ground between print and new technologies. With a strong emphasis on practical application, this workshop explains in simple terms the steps to self-managing a makeover within a wide range of budgets.

More than just theory, this workshop includes hundreds of photographs of makeovers at all budget levels and impressive examples of usage statistics from libraries that have implemented these ideas successfully. Anyone in any type of library (public, academic, school, special) should attend to learn important techniques for doing a makeover of your library.

About Kevin Hennah
Kevin Hennah has worked closely with libraries since 2002 on strategies to maximize productivity of space and improve presentation and image. During this time he has carried out site visits to approximately 1000 libraries internationally.
Kevin’s understanding of the operational requirements of libraries is coupled with practical advice that is sensitive to budget restrictions and challenges traditional thinking. He is the Author of The Victorian Public Libraries’ Image Handbook and the featured author in Re-think, Ideas for Inspiring School Library Design.
