The joint MPLA/CALCON16 Planning Committee is excited to announce the joint conference at the Embassy Suites in Loveland October 20-22, 2016. We are expecting this year’s conference to be one of the best yet, with programs that apply to all levels of library work, from front line staff to directors. But to make this a reality, we need your help! What can you share?

2016 Call for Proposals – Due February 12th!

The 2016 MPLA/CAL Conference focuses on how to innovate, inspire and connect the library community across Colorado and the Mountain Plains Region.

The Conference Program Committee is seeking proposals for programs that:

•         demonstrate connections between libraries and their patrons, partners, and other libraries;

•         stimulate imagination, foster creativity, and ingenuity;

• engage communities and demonstrate leadership for libraries of every size and every type.

CoALA Peer Review

Colorado Academic Library Association (CoALA) is once again proud to offer peer review of proposals for the 2016 Conference. While intended primarily for proposals related to original research conducted in an academic library setting, peer review is offered for any proposal that provides the requisite documentation of original scholarship.

Why present a peer reviewed general session workshop at your state conference?

• The value is several times multiplied when you choose to share with colleagues about the fantastic project and initiatives you are doing.

• Be a leader: spark innovation and plant the seed for those listening

• Help build the hive: contribute and advance scholarship among librarians.

• Professional advancement: many academic institutions require librarians to publish, present, and participate, with an emphasis on peer review research.

• Practice makes perfect: MPLA/CALCON16 is a great place to polish and practice those presentations you wish to submit for national conferences in the future.
