Program: Prospector/RAPID Article Delivery Service
When: Friday, May 13, 2005 from 10am-noon.
Where: Auraria ? South Classroom Building, room 125
Sponsor: Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries and CSU

This is an open meeting for anyone who would like to attend.

Colorado State University has developed the RAPID service as a way for patrons to order articles and receive them online via a secure Web page in one or two days. CSU developed RAPID after its flood and has been developing and improving the service with a suite of ARL libraries over the last several years.

CSU in cooperation with the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries is planning on launching RAPID for Prospector libraries in fall 2005. This will mean that a patron can fill out an online Web form for an article, the request will first be checked with your local link resolver if you have one (e.g. Gold Rush, SFX, Serials Solutions) and if the article is not available online the request will be directed first to a Prospector/RAPID owning library who will scan it and the patron will receive it online within one or two days. If no Prospector/RAPID library holds the item, the request will automatically transfer to the borrowing library for normal ILL handling.

What will the program cover?

1.	Details about how the service will work. How it will interact with your current interlibrary loan and link resolution services
2.	How to participate
3.	Your benefits and responsibilities for participation
4.	Costs and cost savings

There is no cost for attending the program and participants are encouraged to bring their questions. To participate in the inaugural release of RAPID on Prospector in fall 2005 your library will need to indicate an interest by June 15th to allow time for set-up and configuration by CSU technical staff.
