Don't miss the wit and wisdom of our keynote speakers at the  2006 Colorado
Association of Libraries --  A ClassiCAL Celebration of  Libraries and 
Literature!   It all happens November 9-12 in  Denver at the newly-renovated

Chief Morale Officer, Kirk Weisler, kicks it off Thursday evening.   Kirk is

known for his remarkable ability to enhance culture, create  connections and
build community wherever he goes.  Kirk enthusiastically  invites, engages,
and then involves audiences in experiential events that leave  them
empowered with practical, doable techniques they can take home and
replicate with their co-workers.  Don't miss this exciting  presentation!

author of Megatrends, puts a new work onto book shelves in October  - get
ready for Mind Set!  You'll learn the secrets of  cultural forecasting that
will help you understand today's world and the  opportunities of tomorrow.
A book signing will follow this fascinating  speech. 
 
Saturday morning, the 2006 speaker for the Julie J. Boucher Memorial
Lecture on Intellectual Freedom is award-winning author Brent  Hartinger.
Brent has written several young adult novels  including The Geography Club
and The Last 
Chance Texaco.   This year, the IFC will create a statewide blog for the CAL

conference  attendees and library staff to discuss his book Geography  Club.

 
Saturday evening, writer & director Ann Seidl takes  center stage!  Ann is
working on the  much-anticipated documentary, The Hollywood Librarian, which
examines the roles of librarians in cinema and society.  Covering  many
issues of librarianship, from censorship to equal access, Ann's
presentation is sure to inspire an encore!  
 
Sunday morning, buy your ticket to see the queen - the Sweet Potato Queen
to be specific!  Jill Conner Browne will show us all how to live like
royalty!
