In 2005, Gold Rush released functionality to allow libraries to send their electronic holdings, as configured in Gold Rush, to Google Scholar. This then allows your holdings to appear in Google Scholar results screen with links back to your Gold Rush link resolver. We have recently discovered an error in the documentation on this feature. We will be correcting the formal documenatation but wanted to get this correction out as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions. George ============================================================= Correction to "Manage Gold Rush Linker" documentation pg 17 - the description of the two fields "Electronic Link Label" and "Other Link Label" are incorrect. Incorrect text: 8. Electronic Link Label: The text label to be used for Google Scholar links that will take your users to Gold Rush Linker. 9. Other Link Label: The text label to be used for Google Scholar links that will take your users back to your catalog. Corrected text: 8. Electronic Link Label: The text label to be used for Google Scholar links for resources that are marked as "electronic" in your exported holdings files. Items that are marked as "full text" in Gold Rush will be marked as "electronic" in your exported holdings files. 9. Other Link Label: The text label to be used for Google Scholar links for resources that are marked as "print" in your exported holdings files. Items that are marked as "indexing only" in Gold Rush will be marked as "print" in your exported holdings files. If you also check the checkbox "Print Resources," on the Settings for your Google Scholar Holdings File form, items that are marked as "local full text" in Gold Rush will also be marked as "print" in your exported holdings files. As an extra point of clarification, all links from Google Scholar will go to Gold Rush Linker, and no links from Google Scholar will ever go directly to your library catalog. =============================================== George Machovec Associate Director Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries 3801 E.
