Here's another reason to attend the Surfing Beyond Search Engines database conference September 27 and 28

The AIRS (Acquisition of Information Resources Statewide) Committee will be going out to bid for new statewide database licenses this fall.  The current AIRS database contracts for OCLC/FirstSearch, Ebsco Academic Search/Business Source Premier, and Ebsco K-12 will end mid-2008.  Most of the major vendors will be demonstrating their products at the Surfing Beyond Search Engines database conference on September 28.  Come and see the products, ask questions, and be part of the decision-making process!  We encourage you to attend and complete the survey that will help inform the AIRS Committee about which vendors and products to pursue in the RFQ process.

The databases selected for statewide licenses by AIRS will be available at a substantial discount for libraries who choose to participate.

The AIRS Committee is charged with selecting, negotiating, and implementing contracts and licenses for information resources on behalf of Colorado libraries and to benefit Colorado residents.  This committee is made up of library staff from several libraries and library related organizations that are interested in cooperative purchasingFind out more about the work of the AIRS Committee and Task Force: http://www.aclin.org/committees/airs/
