Hi—as many of the Alliance members know, the CDP had an IMLS grant several years ago—the Sound Model grant which many of the Alliance members participated in.  The content is currently accessible through Heritage West, and is stored on servers hosted at DU.  The grant created Best Practices for Digital Audio which are used nationwide, those Best Practices are available on the BCR website for anyone to use.  The content was converted for many of the participants by Safe Sound Audio and for others by AirShow Mastering.  In the last 6 months, BCR has entered into agreements with both of these organizations, which provides discounts off their standard pricing.

As part of the IMLS National Leadership grant that BCR submitted in partnership with the MetaArchive and which the ADR is a partner on, we will be providing a long term preservation solution for the Sound Model content.

Leigh Grinstead and I have been following much of the national activities on digital audio and video and we are hosting a Free Friday forum on September 11th at 10am with Ann Blonston of AirShow mastering on Digital Audio Project in today’s economy: a case for partnerships.
