Dear Colleagues,

Below is a press release about a new A-Z public search interface for Gold Rush. The documentation for this new interface is attached to this email along with a Word version of this press release. The new interface will not be automatically activated for you unless you activate it yourself in the Gold Rush Staff Toolbox. Instructions for doing this can be found in the attached documentation. Shortly we will be announcing some Webinars for those who would like an online tour of both the A-Z interface as well as new settings on the staff side.

GOLD RUSH RELEASES NEW A-Z SEARCH INTERFACE

The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries is pleased to announce the release of a new A-Z public interface for its Gold Rush electronic management and discovery service. The new interface is in addition to the classic Gold Rush A-Z interface and libraries can choose either option.

Some of the features of the new A-Z interface include:

*	Full text links to journals right on the browse or search interface without having to go to the full record
*	An easy way to navigate long lists
*	The ability to repeat searches not only in other Gold Rush libraries but in any other library-defined target on the Web which might include library catalogs, Google Scholar, union catalogs or even other brands of commercial A-Z services.
*	Advanced AJAX features to allow users to expand records in-situ to see things such as where journals are indexed, alternate titles and subject headings while retaining the context of a search session
*	Improved access and appearance of the OpenURL Article Finder

The new Interface may be toggled on in the Gold Rush Staff Toolbox by going to: Settings à Manage Preferences à Main à Search/Browse Results Display to "New." Libraries can activate the new interface at their convenience. Full documentation for the new interface is available in the Gold Rush Staff Toolbox. Webinars and further information are available by contacting the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries.
