Gold Rush Offers Suite of Small Upgrades

Over the last two weeks Gold Rush has made a series of helpful software enhancements to its service which many sites may find useful.

1.  Notes Field Flexibility -- In the "New" Gold Rush A-Z interface the "Notes" field may now display either as a link or as full-text on the page.  You may make this choice by going to the Gold Rush Staff Toolbox and going to "Settings --> Manage Preferences" and you'll find a new option for "Date Notes Display."   You'll have the choice of either "Link" or "Display" to indicate your preference as to which way your site would like to display the Notes field.  The default setting is to show Notes as a link, so if you want them to always appear as full-text on the screen, be sure to make this change.

2.  Next/Previous Navigation - In the "New" Gold Rush A-Z interface a "Next" or "Previous" link will appear for large result sets at the bottom of each page.  We still have a "Jump to Journal" pull-down box to quickly move around large result sets, but the "Next" or "Previous" button will make it easier to do sequential page displays.

3.  URL Field Expanded - Journal and Database level URLs have been expanded from 255 characters to 65,000 characters.  The reason is that we have found some vendors (e.g. Gale Cengage) with some very long journal-level URLs.  This upgrade was necessary to make sure that all URLs would work in the system.
