Position Title: Collections Analyst

Location: University of Colorado Denver, Downtown Denver Campus, Auraria Library

Job Overview

The Technical Services division within the Auraria Library is responsible for the acquisitions, access, and discovery of purchased and curated collections. The Collections Analyst position will support fiduciary responsibilities of procuring library materials, which includes compliance of University fiscal rules and stewardship of State funding. Primary responsibilities of this position include:

        Assists with the monthly reconciliation of expenditures, regular maintenance of funds, and fiscal close.

        Maintains and manages the process of collecting, analyzing, and creating report library utilization data typically requested/required by academic program reviews, accreditation reports, and national annual library surveys.

        Gathers, comprehends, combines, and analyzes usage statistics and other data from purchased library materials for the purpose of informing and assessing collection development and resource management decision activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications

        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

        One year of experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting data. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

        Master of Library and Information Science degree completed or in progress.

        One year of professional experience in similar role at a higher education institution or library.

        Experience with web-based data interfaces such as Google Analytics.

        Experience with an Integrated Library System, such as Sierra.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

        Ability to use of software for word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and decision support.

        Understanding of higher education policies and issues.

        Organizational skills and analytical skills.

        Ability to analyze implications of changes in methods, input data, policies, etc.

        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

        Results-oriented and able to work through projects independently.

        Experience in team-building and skills in collaborative work.

        Advance knowledge level of Microsoft Excel to present, summarize, and manipulate data (including creating charts and graphs).
