Subject: As you Prepare to Reopen your Library - Health and mental health considerations

The Colorado State Library and Ready Teams have partnered to provide a webinar for Colorado library staff as they begin planning for re-opening libraries across the state.

On Wednesday May 6, 2020 at 10 AM, representatives from a variety of health, mental health, and library agencies will share their perspectives on how organizations can support library staff and their patrons as they reopen.

The webinar will be open to library staff statewide, and will include a brief presentation, followed by Q & A with a panel of experts including:

  * Carl LoFaro - licensed social worker
  * Olivia Zarella - public health professional
  * Alyssa Henneboehle - nurse practitioner
  * Deborah Conklin – founder of Ready Teams
  * Polly Gallagher - Director, Grand County Library District

We received feedback from over 200 library staff across Colorado about their concerns regarding reopening, and our discussion will focus on these key topics:

  * Patron and library staff health and safety
  * The impact of the health crisis on library staff
  * Effectively and respectfully handling social service referrals
  * The mental health impact of sudden financial insecurity
  * Tools to address the heightened emotions of staff and the public
Registration is required. To register email Christine Kreger at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
