**Apologies for cross posting**

In 2023, based on feedback from a recent survey of members and attendees,
we are switching things up a bit! This year’s program includes two virtual
two-day events: our reinvented Technology Summit
<https://niso.org/events/niso-tech-summit>, and the ever-popular Humanities
Roundtable <https://niso.org/events/2023-niso-humanities-roundtable>; and
two four-hour virtual conferences — on Accessibility
<https://niso.org/events/accessibility>, and Metadata and Discovery:
Quality is Key <https://niso.org/events/metadata-and-discovery-quality-key>.
Registration for each event is $190 for members or $255 for non-members
and, if you register for all four events
<https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2023-niso-virtual-conference-package-registration-443389689497>,
the cost is just $610 or $815 respectively — a savings of almost 20%
compared with registering for each event individually!

We’ll be sharing more information about the program and speakers nearer the
time, but we hope the brief descriptions below will whet your appetite to
join us at these four important events:

Virtual Conference: Accessibility <https://niso.org/events/accessibility>

March 29, 2023, 12.00pm - 4.00pm Eastern Time (US/Canada)

This virtual conference will cover the perspectives and expertise needed to
ensure that products and services meet required accessibility
specifications. What are the stumbling blocks and what are some of the
emerging solutions – whether technological or standards-based? Attendees
will come away with a greater understanding of what’s needed and what’s
possible.

NISO Humanities Roundtable
<https://niso.org/events/2023-niso-humanities-roundtable>

April 25 and 26, 2023, 10.00am - 1.00pm Eastern Time (US/Canada)

The 2023 Humanities Roundtable will carry forward the tradition of its
previous 20 years, drawing on the expertise of scholarly associations,
university presses, digital archives, and scholars to provide participants
with two days of discussions around the needs of those working in these
critical disciplines. The theme and program for this event will be
developed In collaboration with a committee of stakeholders, who
collectively reflect the overall interests of the information community.

Virtual Conference: Metadata and Discovery: Quality is Key
<https://niso.org/events/metadata-and-discovery-quality-key>

May 17, 2023, 12.00pm - 4.00pm Eastern Time (US/Canada)

Metadata is critical to success but it is increasingly complicated to work
with. For example, in addition to descriptive metadata, individuals may
also need specific legal or administrative metadata in order to clarify
appropriate rights for usage. This virtual conference will bring together
experts from across the information community to discuss current behaviors,
practices, and applications for metadata.

NISO Tech Summit <https://niso.org/events/niso-tech-summit>

October 25 and 26, 10.00am - 1.00pm Eastern Time (US/Canada)

The information environment is a complex network of software and operating
systems that are expected to perform new functions across both old and new
hardware. What are the big challenges facing content providers, service
providers, and platform hosts? What are the smaller speed bumps that impede
our progress? The theme and program for this event will be developed In
collaboration with a committee of stakeholders, who collectively reflect
the overall interests of the information community.

Make sure your organization’s staff can be part of all these important and
timely discussions by booking our special discounted virtual conference
package <https://www.niso.org/2023-virtual-conference-package> now! All
registrants will receive a recording of each conference after it ends,
which you can download and share freely with colleagues at your
organization.

We hope to see you there!

Best wishes

The NISO Team
