Global Water: 2010 and Beyond
A Global Resources Forum for Librarians, archivists, and scholars
Organized by the Center for Research Libraries and the Greater Western
Library Alliance
Denver, Colorado
October 21-22, 2010

Global warming and climate change have brought new attention to the
issues surrounding the use, supply, and management of water in academic,
policy, and business communities. Global Water: 2010 and Beyond is a
two-day forum for librarians, scholars, and archivists that will survey
the types of documentation and data pertaining to social, economic,
political, and environmental aspects of water. The forum will be of
particular interest to researchers, librarians and archivists in the
fields of government and NGO information, environmental science, climate
change, public policy, development, and economics.

On day one, scholars and public policy experts will describe new and
emerging lines of water-related research, and will survey the types of
documentation and data upon which such research relies. And librarians
and archivists will discuss the challenges encountered in preserving and
ensuring access to traditional and electronic source materials on water
supply and use.

On the morning of day two, librarians and archivists will explore and
formulate ways to improve support of water-related research and
policy-making.

Attendees must register in advance of the forum. Registration is $125
per person, but free for representatives of CRL and GWLA libraries. For
registration and the forum agenda, go to:
